Overnight, Australia\u2019s Christopher Pitt won the silver medal, with a score of 224.6, in the Men\u2019s P1 10m Air Pistol event at the World Shooting Para Sport World Cup in Al Ain.\u00a0 The gold medal was won by Jungnam KIM of Korea (239.9) and bronze won by Hamad ALMANSOURI of UAE (201.5).<\/p>\n

Having competed in one of his preferred events only two days prior (25m Pistol) and finishing in 7th place after the final, of his silver medal win Pitt said \u201cThe silver medal was a surprise for me. Air Pistol is not my preferred match but I was happy I got off to a good start and held it to the end [even though] I was a bit shaky.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of his preparation leading into Al Ain in his hometown of Bundaberg in Queensland, Pitt said \u201cI did 5 or 6 days a week training. We really look forward to coming to this [event] as it\u2019s one of our favourites and being from Australia is only one flight. To get a silver medal to go with it is awesome.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pitt\u2019s silver medal win brings the Australian teams medal count to three, with Anton Zappelli winning silver in the Mixed 10m Air Rifle Prone event, and a silver team medal in the same event for Zappelli, Scottie Brydon and Glen McMurtrie.<\/p>\n

Pitt will now turn his focus to the third and final event of this World Cup campaign, the mixed 50m pistol event.<\/p>\n
