We could just say &#8220;today Anton is competing in the R6 event&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mixed means that men and women will be competing on the line at the same time, against each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>50m Rifle is the distance between the athlete and the target.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prone means the position the competitor will be in to shoot. The prone position resembles a &#8216;lying down&#8217; position.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is the competition format of the R6 Mixed 50m Rifle Prone event?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A smallbore .22 calibre (5.6mm) rifle is used to fire 60 shots down the 50 metre range in 50 minutes, aiming for the bullseye! The target measures&nbsp;15.5cms in diametre. The \u201c10\u201d ring is 1cm (10 mm) in diameter with an inner \u201cX\u201d ring (bullseye) a mere 5mm in diametre.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The goal of shooting this event is to place a series of shots inside the centre ring (\u2018bullseye\u2019) of the target. The target is comprised of&nbsp;10 concentric scoring rings&nbsp;with a score grade of 1 to 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 60 shots will be fired in 6 x ten shot series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The top eight athletes in the qualification round qualify for the final, however, qualification scores are not carried over into the final.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today is the 7th and final day of competition for Para Shooting Sport as part of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games!
