The Para Shooting program will mirror what was delivered at the Paris 2024 Games and will include 13 events across pistol and rifle, with 3 male, 3 female and 7 mixed\/open events. Possible new disciplines\/events of Para Trap and Visually Impaired (VI \u2013 Rifle) have not been included on the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>MEN\u2019S EVENTS:<\/strong>&nbsp;<br>Rifle R1 \u2013 10m Air Rifle Standing \u2013 SH1, R7 \u2013 50m Rifle 3 positions \u2013 SH1, Pistol P1 \u2013 10m Air Pistol \u2013 SH1<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WOMEN\u2019S EVENTS:<\/strong>&nbsp;<br>Rifle R2 \u2013 10m Air Rifle Standing \u2013 SH1, R8 \u2013 50m Rifle 3 positions \u2013 SH1, Pistol P2 \u2013 10m Air Pistol \u2013 SH1<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>MIXED\/OPEN EVENTS:<\/strong>&nbsp;Rifle R3 \u2013 10m Air Rifle Prone \u2013 SH1, R4 \u2013 10m Air Rifle Standing \u2013 SH2, R5 \u2013 10m Air Rifle Prone \u2013 SH2, R6 \u2013 50m Rifle Prone \u2013 SH1, R9 \u2013 50m Rifle Prone \u2013 SH2, Pistol P3 \u2013 25m Pistol \u2013 SH1, P4 \u2013 50m Pistol \u2013 SH1<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of the IPC\u2019s announcement about the LA 2028 Para Shooting program, Shooting Australia\u2019s Chief Executive Officer, Adam Sachs, says, \u201cWe are glad to have confirmation of the events that will be contested at the LA2028 Paralympic Games, and a bit surprised that they don\u2019t include Para Trap or VI. Shooting Australia will continue to invest in progressing the performances of its current Para athletes and at the same time, increase investment towards fast tracking the identification, development and performances of our next generation of Para Shooting athletes across the events that will be comprise the LA 2028 program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are excited about the prospect of our current and future athletes establishing themselves as regular finalists and medallists in the lead up to the LA 2028 and Brisbane 2032 Paralympic Games.\u201d &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/shootingaustralia.org\/la2028-para-shooting-program-confirmed\/\">READ THE FULL STORY<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">CHANGWON 2025 WSPS WORLD CUP<\/h4>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"831\" height=\"486\" src=\"https:\/\/shootingaustralia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/504836049_1755682751722879_2302812827455844600_n-9ba7412014b0180a.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5281\" style=\"width:722px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/shootingaustralia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/504836049_1755682751722879_2302812827455844600_n-9ba7412014b0180a.jpg 831w, https:\/\/shootingaustralia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/504836049_1755682751722879_2302812827455844600_n-9ba7412014b0180a-300x175.jpg 300w, https:\/\/shootingaustralia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/504836049_1755682751722879_2302812827455844600_n-9ba7412014b0180a-768x449.jpg 768w, https:\/\/shootingaustralia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/504836049_1755682751722879_2302812827455844600_n-9ba7412014b0180a-600x351.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 831px) 100vw, 831px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>The World Shooting Para Sports 2025 World Cup was held in Changwon, South Korea, between the 28<sup>th<\/sup> of May and 6<sup>th<\/sup> of June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Australia was represented at the World Cup by a team of 4 athletes, including, Scottie Brydon, Glen McMurtrie, Natalie Smith &amp; Anton Zappelli, and was supported by Team Leader and Para Technical Support Lead, Catherine Berry as well as Coach, Ben Sandstrom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Team Australia achieved outstanding results with Brydon, Smith and Zappelli claiming the gold medal in the R6 &#8211; Rifle 50m Prone Team event and Smith winning an individual silver medal in the R8 &#8211; Women\u2019s 50m Rifle 3 Positions event. Across the World Cup the Australian team also achieved four finals appearances, 2 fourths place finishes, as well as an 8<sup>th<\/sup> and a 10<sup>th<\/sup> place finish. Australian, Alex Maranik was also selected to attend the WSPS Changwon World Cup, officiating as a Rifle Jury Member.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"903\" height=\"890\" src=\"https:\/\/shootingaustralia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/image-10.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5189\" style=\"width:592px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/shootingaustralia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/image-10.jpeg 903w, https:\/\/shootingaustralia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/image-10-300x296.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/shootingaustralia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/image-10-768x757.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/shootingaustralia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/image-10-600x591.jpeg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 903px) 100vw, 903px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Of the Australian Team\u2019s 2025 international debut, and the first international competition following the Paris Paralympics, Catherine Berry highlighted, \u201cIt\u2019s been very exciting to get back to into international competition post Paris 2024. The Team\u2019s preparation prior to departure for Changwon was solid and we came here with the focus of making the most of the international competition environment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m extremely proud of each Athletes\u2019 performance and we\u2019ve learnt a lot to take away and use in preparation for the next World Cup in Al Ain later this year. The results in Changwon have set us off to a great start.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Upon returning to Australia, Catherine spoke about key priorities and focusses, explaining, \u201cMoving forward, the athletes will continue to focus on training and making the most of the upcoming domestic event, A Trans-Tasman camp that is taking place in Brisbane in July. Australia was represented by Jack Rossiter, who competed in the 50m Rifle 3 Position and 10m Air Rifle events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2025 ISSF Munich World Cup brought together nearly 700 pistol and rifle athletes from 78 nations, making it one of the most competitive international events on the ISSF calendar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Amongst a competitive field of 151 athletes in the Men\u2019s 10m Air Rifle event, Rossiter finished qualification in second place, shooting a score of 634.2. Rossiter progressed to the finals, where he placed 8<sup>th <\/sup>overall. Individual Neutral Athlete, Illia Marsov won the gold medal, with Jon-Hermann Hegg of Norway and Lihao Sheng of China finishing second and third respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/shootingaus\" rel=\"noopener\">SEE MORE ON OUR FACEBOOK PAGE<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">SHOOTING AUSTRALIA CELEBRATES OLYMPIC DAY (23 JUNE 2025)<\/h4>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"396\" height=\"240\" src=\"https:\/\/shootingaustralia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/12442-38c8d443cd9eb52a.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5283\" style=\"width:343px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/shootingaustralia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/12442-38c8d443cd9eb52a.png 396w, https:\/\/shootingaustralia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/12442-38c8d443cd9eb52a-300x182.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 396px) 100vw, 396px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>This month Shooting Australia joined the Australian Olympic Committee in celebrating Olympic Day for 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Olympic Day, which took place on the 23rd of June, was an opportunity to recognise the talented athletes who have represented Australia at the Olympic Games, whilst additionally celebrating the values of friendship, respect and excellence that they inspire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/shootingaus\" rel=\"noopener\">SEE MORE ON OUR FACEBOOK PAGE<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">SHOOTING AUSTRALIA ALIGNS CONSITUTION, WHILE SCOTT HOUSTON JOINS THE BOARD<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>On the 25th of June, Shooting Australia held a Special General Meeting to consider an amendment to its Constitution that will align it with the Australian Sports Commission\u2019s (ASC) Sport Governance Standards. Shooting Australia is required to comply to these standards by the 30<sup>th&nbsp;<\/sup>of June 2026 as a condition of its funding from the ASC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The key amendments to the Constitution were voted upon by Shooting Australia\u2019s Member Organisations and were approved unanimously. The key amendments included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Director Composition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ensuring the Shooting Australia Board has a minimum of 40% appointed directors, resulting in a reduction in the number of elected directors from 5 to 4 and an increase in the number of appointed directors from 2 to 4.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This will provide for a minimum Board size of 4 and up to 8 with which aligns with the ASC\u2019s recommended optimal Board size of 7 or 8.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gender Provisions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Shooting Australia Board demonstrating a strong and public commitment to progressing towards achieving diversity, equity and inclusion goals with no one gender accounting for more than 50% of the total number of directors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/shootingaustralia.org\/resource\/constitution\/\">SHOOTING AUSTRALIA CONSITUTION<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to these constitutional changes, Shooting Australia is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Houston to the Board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adelaide based Scott, is a former professional table tennis athlete and an experienced senior executive in the sports industry. His CV includes executive roles with the International Table Tennis Federation \u2013 Oceania, Table Tennis Australia and the South Australian Cricket Association. A full field of skeet and trap competitors contested the state title in some glorious Brisbane weather.
