Al Ain 2025 WSPS World Cup Team Announcement<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

4 Para-athletes have been selected to represent Australia at the 2025 WSPS World Cup, which is set to take place in Al Ain, UAE between the 25th<\/sup> of October and the 5th<\/sup> of November<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Congratulations to the athletes on their selection to the team!<\/p>\n\n\n

AL AIN TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2025 ISSF World Championships Shotgun Team Announcement<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

11 Australian athletes have been selected in accordance with the selection criteria to compete in the ISSF Shotgun World Championships in Athens, Greece, between the 9th and 19th of October 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Congratulations to these athletes on their selection.<\/p>\n\n\n

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brisbane Para National Classification Day<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n
\n
\"This<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n

Shooting Australia will be hosting its second and final National Classification Day for 2025 in Brisbane on the 6th of October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

National Classification Days are run in collaboration with Paralympics Australia and are open to any para-athlete with a current provisional classification, as well as to athletes of all shooting disciplines, including, rifle, pistol and shotgun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To be eligible to receive a National Classification, candidates are required to provide their Provisional Classification paperwork and evidence of a medical diagnosis prior to their appointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To secure a National Classification appointment, registration must be completed before the 26th of September 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NATIONAL CLASSIFICATION DAY INFO & REGISTRATION<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shooting Australia Calls for Appointed Director Expressions of Interest<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

At its Special General Meeting in June 2025, with support from its Member Organisation, Shooting Australia amended its Constitution to align with the Australian Sports Commission’s Sport Governance Standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These changes will enable SA to continue to meet ASC funding requirements and work towards best-practice governance. Shooting Australia is required to be fully compliant with these standards by 30 June 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The key changes to Shooting Australia\u2019s Constitution included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Board Composition: The Shooting Australia Board will consist of up to eight members, with four (4) Elected Directors and up to four (4) Appointed Directors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Appointed Director Ratio: In line with Australian Sports Commission guidelines, at least 40% of the Board must be Appointed Directors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Provisions for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion – No one gender accounts for more than 50% of the total number of Directors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shooting Australia has commenced a recruitment process for up to three (3) Appointed Directors through a call for Expressions of Interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shooting Australia is seeking individuals (from within or beyond the sport sector) that address one or more of the following attributes identified on the organisations Board Skills Matrix:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Finance Expertise (e.g. CA, CPA)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Governance Experience<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 High Performance System Knowledge<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Strategic Capability<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This process aims to build a diverse and inclusive Board, equipped to drive Shooting Australia’s strategic goals moving forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ISSF Rule 2026 Competition Rule Changes<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n

Shooting Australia is aware of the ISSF\u2019s intention to make several rule changes across all target shooting sport disciplines for 2026 and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These proposed changes might include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Alterations to the acceptable rifle competition clothing<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Alterations to the finals formats<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Other general rules changes or updates<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shooting Australia will ensure that all rule change announcements are relayed the community as they are confirmed and announced by the ISSF.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will also ensure that we work closely with athletes, domestic endorsed event hosts and officials so that any rule changes can be reflected domestically at the most appropriate time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MISC Grand Prix Event Recap<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n

The MISC Grand Prix was held from the 15th<\/sup> to the 17th<\/sup> of August, at the Melbourne International Shooting Club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The three-day competition brought together pistol and rifle athletes from around the nation to test their skills against one another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jean & Peter Wray Championships Event Recap<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n

The Jean & Peter Wray Shotgun Championship competition took place between the 22nd<\/sup> and 24th<\/sup> of August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This tier 1 competition marked the third and final selection event for the Shotgun World Championships, which are scheduled to take place in Athens, Greece between the 8th<\/sup> and 19th<\/sup> of October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
